Dr Albert Edwin Zant, Jr., MD -Biography
​Dr. Albert Edwin Zant, Jr., MD, is a distinguished physician with over 50 years of expertise in anesthesia and hyperbaric medicine, advancing innovative health solutions. A graduate of Emory University (BA, 1964) and the Medical College of Georgia (MD, 1968), he completed his anesthesia residency at the University of Florida (1972-4). Since 1974, Dr. Zant has led a private practice in Fort Walton Beach, FL, specializing in hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) to enhance cognitive and physical function, treating conditions like traumatic brain injury and long COVID, as shown in his publications in Undersea Hyperbaric Medicine (2007, 2009, 2022) and Medical Gas Research (2019). His work with HBOT supports recovery and resilience, while his exploration of plant-based therapies promotes holistic healing. Honored with the 2014 DAR National Distinguished Citizen Medal for pro-bono care to veterans and induction into the Florida Military Veterans Hall of Fame (2019), Dr. Zant’s pioneering efforts in integrative medicine and commitment to optimizing human potential make him a vital contributor to SCI-DI’s mission of transformative health advancements.
